Project Overview

Originally launched as AirhireMe—a niche rental marketplace for sports equipment—this platform was reimagined as Covenue, a booking solution for real estate spaces designed for events, gatherings, and flexible use. The pivot retained the core model of peer-to-peer rentals but adapted it to a more versatile and scalable market: spaces instead of gear.

The project focused on transforming the platform’s positioning, refining the user experience, and extending its functionality across web and mobile platforms for both individual and business users.

Scope of Work

As Product Manager, I led the end-to-end revamp of the platform, from scoping and planning to coordination with design, engineering, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities included:

• Product Repositioning: Guided the shift from a sports equipment rental use case to real estate spaces, ensuring continuity in platform logic while aligning features with the new target market.

• Platform Design & Scoping: Oversaw UX flows and functional specs across:

  • Web and mobile apps for individual and business users

  • A centralized super admin dashboard for operations and platform governance

• Cross-Platform Consistency: Ensured seamless booking experiences across iOS, Android, and web, addressing unique constraints per platform while maintaining a shared design and logic system.

• Feature Continuity: Maintained existing functionalities such as direct booking, bidding, and carbon impact visualization, adapting their language and context for the new market.

• Stakeholder Alignment: Acted as the central link between founders, designers, and developers—ensuring timelines, trade-offs, and user flows remained consistent with the business vision.

Key Takeaways

Repositioning an existing platform without altering its fundamental architecture presented a unique product challenge. It required balancing the preservation of proven systems with the need to reframe user journeys, branding, and messaging for an entirely different market. Strong cross-functional alignment, clear documentation, and a modular approach to platform design enabled a smooth transition from AirhireMe to Covenue.
