Project Overview
Sewlsi was a personal passion project launched before the pandemic with the goal of promoting circular fashion and inspiring more sustainable shopping habits. The idea was to create a small-scale e-commerce brand focused on giving pre-loved clothing a second life through curated drops and thoughtful storytelling.
Scope of Work
As a solo founder, I handled everything end-to-end—from branding and Shopify site development to inventory, customer communication, and marketing. I built the store from scratch, created a social media presence, and managed operations with minimal resources. The project also included building a small community around slow fashion values.
Outcomes
While sales were limited due to pandemic-related shifts in consumer behavior, the project offered valuable hands-on experience across the full e-commerce lifecycle. It strengthened my understanding of product positioning, lean operations, and the emotional side of brand storytelling.
Key Takeaways
This project reinforced the challenges of bootstrapping an online business during uncertain times, but also highlighted the power of purpose-driven work. It was a crash course in wearing multiple hats—balancing creativity, logistics, and digital execution—while staying connected to a broader mission.
